Carefree
For the ones who remember laughter as medicine.
A lunar cycle of running into the field
and blowing wishes to the wind.
We begin on the New Moon, July 14th.
You forgot what carefree felt like.
It's not lost.
It's waiting.
Somewhere along the way,
lightness became a luxury.
Joy became something earned.
But the field still remembers your laughter.
The wind still knows your name.
Carefree was never the lightness you’d think.
It’s open hands —
no matter what’s moving through them.
The woman running into the field
and the woman who lets the grief come and doesn’t flinch
are doing the very same thing.
Not bracing. Unafraid.
Open, and all the way here.
Carefree is for the woman
who remembers she came here to be.
Herself.
To dance.
To play.
To embrace.
Your joy isn’t waiting for the right season.
It’s here now.
Your play. Your spirit. Your light.

All ceremonies on Zoom, 7–9pm EDT, with recordings shared. Showing up live is part of the medicine—attuning to the lunar cycle herself, to attune us to our own.
This cycle runs under a rare sky. Five days before we open, Jupiter—expansion, blessing, luck—crossed fresh into Leo, where it stays for a year: nearly the literal astrology of carefree, and the opening breath of a twelve-year season of the heart expanding.
We begin while Mercury—the planet of breath, the dandelion seed on the wind—is retrograde in the deep waters of Cancer, rooted in memory and feeling. It turns direct just as the Sun crosses into Leo, and the whole cycle pivots from inward reflection toward radiant expression: the shell, opening into the fire.
At the Full Moon the brightest light falls on Pluto—the depths, death and rebirth. The fullest moon of a cycle called Carefree is the one that holds the dark: open hands, no matter what’s moving through them.
And it doesn’t resolve. The balsamic dark dissolves into a total solar eclipse in Leo—the whole cycle an in-breath before the light goes out at midday, its theme the release of performing, of the hunger to be seen as enough. We are not here to be performed at. This isn’t a cycle that arrives somewhere; it’s a long, playful, unflinching approach to a threshold.

Play
Each ceremony is different—shaped by the moon, the season, and what the circle brings. There is no script. There is listening.
A private WhatsApp circle holds us between the gatherings, all cycle long—a place to reflect and share, for check-ins, altar tending, magic, and the small integration practices that carry the medicine into your days.
Not a certificate. Not a checklist. A body that remembers how to play. A laugh that doesn’t apologize. A circle of women who witnessed you come back to lightness.
More than anything: the lived experience of carefree—present to what is, whole as you already are, no longer bracing against reality but moving with it. Open hands, here and now.
You don’t need to arrive healed. You don’t need to arrive ready. You just need to arrive as you are—the wind will do the rest.

Who I Am
Kayla
I was raised inside a religion that handed me a whole cosmos and a whole set of instructions for how to vanish inside it. I left at seventeen—not with a plan, just with the certainty that I couldn’t keep living a borrowed life. That leaving was the first initiation. It wouldn’t be the last.
For six years I danced under the name Selene. People expect that chapter to be the cautionary tale. For me it was the awakening—the place I came back into my body, into my sensuality, into the divine feminine that the religion of my childhood had taught me to fear. It was beautiful and it was hard, and it made a great deal of who I am. Selene was never a costume. She was the name my aliveness arrived under. She still is.
Everything since has been the same current moving through different water. Yoga and somatic training taught me to listen to the body as the first oracle. The moon taught me that I am cyclical, not linear—that there is a season for everything, including rest. Years of my own healing and therapy taught me that the wound and the gift live in the same hand. And the mystery school I’ve been devoted to for three years is slowly ordaining me into a priestess path I’m still learning the full shape of—rooted in feminine mystery, alchemy, archetype, and the cycles that are my medicine.
Now I work with women one-to-one in shadow, lunar, and somatic-devotional practice, and I blend sacred tea through Sutchateas—small-batch, ceremonial, made for cyclical living. I don’t separate the business from the spirituality, or the mundane from the holy. To me there’s no such line. Making tea is ceremony. Earning a living is ceremony. Being fully alive—awake, attuned, embodied, devoted—is the whole practice.
I’m not here to be performed at, and I won’t perform at you. I’m here in devotion to a life lived alive.
- RYT-200 (x2) — two completed 200-hour yoga teacher trainings, with 13,000+ hours of teaching and practice
- Mind Body Centering Yoga (MBCY) — trauma- & somatic-informed training
- Year 3 (ongoing) of mystery school — divine/sacred feminine, alchemy, archetypal & lunar-cycle work, devotional practice; currently on the path of ordination as a priestess
- Associate’s degree in Humanities & Psychology
- Somatic, cycle-based facilitation — shadow work, lunar work, spiritual/somatic 1:1 practice
- Founder of Sutchateas — ceremonial, small-batch tea for cyclical living
- Mentors I’ve had over the years — Clarissa Pinkola Estés (author of Women Who Run With the Wolves), studied across two immersions, Wounded Healer and Story as Medicine; Elayne Kalila Doughty and Ariel Spilsbury, my current mystery-school teachers; and the God/Goddess/Oneness, forever and ongoing
- Lived initiations — raised in and left a high-control religion; six years embodying Selene as a sacred awakening into body and sensuality; shamanic journeying and drum creation; four years, ongoing, of holding moon ceremonies; and an ongoing personal journey of healing and therapy that underwrites all of the above

“Kayla has been the healthiest catalyst for becoming the woman I always wanted to be. My petals opened and blossomed. She radiates feminine beauty, and gently calls forth meaningful change in everyone she meets.”
“Kayla is a phenomenally intuitive, gifted leader with a rare capacity to hold deep space for women—totally unique, and wonderfully authentic.”
“Working with Kayla is inspirational—not only in how she holds space, but in how she teaches you to hold space for yourself.”
General Questions
Every gathering is recorded and shared, so you can return to it in your own time. Come to what you can. Still, showing up live is part of the medicine—the circle holds something a recording can’t quite carry.
None at all. You don’t need the right words, the right practice, or to have done this before. You only need your willingness to arrive as you are.
Then you’re exactly who this is for. Carefree isn’t forced lightness—it’s open hands, no matter what’s moving through them. Your grief, your anger, your despair and fear—all of it is welcome here. It’s exactly where the lightness is hiding.
No. This is ceremony and somatic practice—not treatment, and not a substitute for therapy or medical care. If you’re in acute crisis, please reach for the support you need; the circle can hold you alongside it, not instead of it.
There is no script. Each ceremony is a space of presence—spirit-led, dropping in, unfolding moment to moment, met and guided by what is real for each of us and co-created by all who gather. Intuitive and alive, yet deeply transformative and alchemical—at times altered, in a sober way: full of clarity, essence, and spirit. Come as you are; move, rest, or simply witness.
There is no set limit—but it’s kept intentionally intimate, small enough that you’re witnessed, not lost in a crowd.
It is time to be Carefree.
The circle is open.
